    Big Week for Bama Basketball

    in General Discussion

    2 Games + 4 Decisions = 1 Big Week for Bama Basketball.

With tonight's home game vs. FAU and Friday's road trip to Rhode Island, the Tide are hoping to build a winning record and garner the first home and road victories of the Oats era.

As for big decisions, fans are anxiously awaiting a a final ruling from the NCAA in Jahvon Quinerly's appeal for eligibility, with word likely to come out before tip-off tonight. There are also three decisions of the recruiting variety coming this week as the basketball world will hear from Nimari Burnett (Tuesday), Isaiah Jackson (Saturday), and Keon Ambrose (Sunday).

This is the kind of week that will shape not just the season but also the future of the program. How will the Tide do this week? What are the odds Bama could go 6 for 6 on these events? What game or decision do you think has the biggest impact on the team? Comment below and let us know.

The NCAA has denied Jahvon Quinerly's waiver on appeal.

1-2 so far on the week. Won the game over Florida Atlantic, lost JQ's appeal to the NCAA and lost Burnett to Texas Tech. Need to get verbals from Isaiah Jackson and Keon Ambrose-Hylton this weekend plus a win Friday at Rhode Island. Hopefully, the athletic post player from Canada, Charles Bediako will be reclassify to the class of 2020 also. That would be a very nice class for Oats' first year in T-town. I expect the class of 2021 to be even better, given that the staff has more time to establish relationships with potential recruits. Jackson, Ambrose-Hylton and Bediako are much more athletic post players than we currently have (Reese, Smith, Davis & Hawkins).

Welp, final count for the week is 2-4. No Burnett or Jackson, but we did get Ambrose-Hylton. Split the games handling Florida Atlantic and didn't really look good at Rhode Island. Way too sloppy with the ball again, especially in the first half. Bolden is really struggling right now. Petty isn't adding anything offensively and makes middle school turnovers, basically just handing the ball to the other team. Let's hope the growing pains end soon and prior to the Battle for Atlantis tournament vs. NoCar. The guys did a good job to get the huge halftime deficit down to 6, but then RI close the game on a run. Roll Tide!
