The Stephen F Austin Lumberjacks were on a roll coming into Coleman Coliseum having ran off wins over #1 Duke in Cameron Indoor and on the road at Arkansas State. SFA’s only loss had come on the road to a tough Rutgers squad. A wounded Alabama met the task with force, however. The Tide were very opportunistic on defense for the entire game and put on a rebounding clinic in the 2nd half. It was the balance on offense that was ultimately too much for the Lumberjacks to withstand as the Crimson Tide had five players in double digits led by Freshman Jaden Shackleford who had 17. John Petty Jr continued to develop into the leader that Bama needs him to be as he filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 3 steals. Coach Oats added after the game that Senior G Beetle Bolden should be good to go next week.
